outside observation of stars

For my makeup lab i had to do an observation of the stars, i had to look through a toilet paper roll and count how many stars i saw inside the roll. Then i had to average them out, i had to do 20 observations, i will share with you how my observations went.

1 - 3 stars - 2 of them were very faint, had low visibility
2 - 4 stars - looking towards the south, had much more visibility
3 - 3 stars - may have been more but couldnt make out if they were stars or not
4 - 0 stars - at this point im looking towards the west, little to no visibility
5 - 0 stars - still west, redish light coming from horizion
6 - 1 star - looking toward low horizion of South, more visible there
7 - 3 stars - different location - less light sorrounding
8 - 1 star - this star was extreamly visible
9 - 1 star - according to Goggle Sky this is Spica
10 - 3 stars - now im looking to the East this is where the most visibility is
11 - 1 star - Sky Maps said its Artair
12 - 4 stars - one of them is very bright identified as Vega or Deneb
13 - 1 star - Redish light coming from north hard to see
14 - 0 stars - low horizion
15 - 2 stars - low horizion west little visibility
16 - 1 star - Polaris
17 - 1 star - Other side of my building
18 - 2 stars - higher up and East
19 - 0 stars - north just has no visibility
20 - 3 stars - best spot in the west up high

So in total there were 33 visible stars, divide that by 20 and you get 1.65 average stars in the sky. Multiply that by 99.3 and you get 163.845 :) The conditions were fairly good it was around 2:30 at night so it was very dark out. The North had a redish light comng from the horizion, i can only assume its from the sun setting. The most visible spot was on the East, Goggle sky Maps identified one of the stars as Vega. Moving to a spot with less light sorrpunding me helped make the stars more visible.
