photons, which are a quantum of
visible light or other form of electromagnetic radiation demonstrating both
particle and wave properties. and we also learned about wave lengths ( an oscillation
that travels through a medium by transferring energy from one particle or point
to another without causing any permanent displacement of the medium). I found
it interesting when we learned that the radio stations we listen to are wave
lengths or sound waves. Frequency is the number of waves that pass by a certain
mark in one second. It was interesting to find that the shorter the wave length,
the greater the energy. The Electromagnetic spectrum which ranks radiation from
lowest energy/longest wavelength to highest energy/shortest wavelength. The
higher the energy, the stronger, and therefore more dangerous, the radiation.
The scale consists of one side being radios, microwaves and infrared then visible,
this is the only part of the electromagnetic spectrum we can see. We see the
different wavelengths in this band of the spectrum as the colors of the rainbow,
and for example the sun. Then on the other side we have things like ultraviolet
UV rays, X-rays and gamma rays.
While doing some research I came across a really cool website called Dr.
Arts guide to Science, and on the website under a tab entitled "cool
stuff" there is a really interesting video on the Electromagnetic
Spectrum. Although it says the video is a tool for teacher I still found it

I also found another website which really gives you a great understanding
of spectrum and also the Multispectral
sun, the website is full with tons of amazing pictures and interesting
